What the app knows about you, and what it does with it.
This app exists to book you an appointment at one salon. It keeps the small amount of information that takes, and nothing else. There is no advertising in it, no analytics tracking you around, and nothing is sold to anyone.
Who runs this app
The app belongs to the salon whose name and photo you see when you open it. That salon decides its services, its opening hours and its prices, and it is the business you are making an appointment with.
The software is built and maintained by themeknock, which runs the servers the app talks to. Questions about your information can go to either the salon or to talhaatariq4@gmail.com.
What the app stores
- Your phone number. It is how you sign in, and how the salon reaches you about an appointment.
- Your name, if you give one. You can change it or leave it blank.
- A profile photo, only if you choose to set one. It is optional, nothing is ever taken automatically, and you can replace it or remove it at any time from Settings.
- Your appointments with that salon: the service, the day, the time, and whether it was kept or cancelled.
- A notification token for your device, if you turn notifications on. It lets the salon tell you that an earlier slot opened up. It is not linked to anything else about you and it is deleted when you sign out.
- Your language choice, which stays on your own phone.
That is the whole list. The app does not ask for your location, your contacts, your calendar or your payment details, and it does not read them. It can open your camera and your photo library, but only in the moment you choose to set a profile photo, and only the one picture you pick is sent anywhere.
Why it stores it
To confirm who you are when you sign in, to hold your appointment, to remind you before it, and to tell you when a spot you were waiting for becomes free. There is no other purpose.
Who else can see it
- The salon you booked with. They see your name, your number, your photo if you set one, and your appointments, the same way they would in a paper diary.
- No other salon. If the same software runs for another salon, that is a separate set of records. Your details are not shared across them.
- Google Firebase, which sends the verification code to your number and delivers notifications to your phone.
- Our hosting providers, which run the servers and the database.
Nothing is sold, rented or handed to advertisers. Information is only given to anyone else if the law requires it.
How long it is kept
Your appointments stay in the salon's records while you are a customer there, because that is the salon's own business history. Your personal details are kept until you delete your account, and then they are removed.
Deleting your account
You can close your account from inside the app, without asking anyone.
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm.
The moment you confirm: your upcoming appointments are cancelled and offered to whoever is waiting, your name and your photo are removed, your phone number is released, and your notification tokens and your notifications are deleted. Your past appointments stay in the salon's records as an anonymous entry, so their bookkeeping is not rewritten by someone leaving. You can sign up again with the same number afterwards, but it will be a new account with no history.
If you no longer have the app installed, you can still ask for the account to be deleted. Here is how.
Children
The app is meant for adults booking their own appointments and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
